Addition: TSM On-line Bible |
| We now have an on-line Bible with a built-in search engine
that will zoom to chapter and verse of any existing book in the Bible. To
find it, from within your course lesson page click on the "References" button to the left side of the screen. On the References page click the link "Bibles and Related Texts". At the top of this page click the "TSM Academy Bible
(RIV)" link. This will launch the TSM Online Bible.
(You can also find this Bible from the TSM Academy Home page in the
References.).... Or Click
Here.
This Bible version is exclusively designed by the TSM Academy staff and
there is none like it anywhere else on the internet. The NIV Bible as well as
the RSV have excluded certain verses for various 'theological' reasons.
The TSM (RIV) has restored these verses to their original place as
the Restored International Version.
There is a search box that will enable zooming into the Book, chapter, and verse. Books can be spelled out or entered in
abbreviated format. For example, entering 'Matthew' or 'mat' (without the quotes) will open that book. In most cases the first three characters of a book will work.
To go to a chapter simply enter the book followed by a space and the chapter number. (e.g. Genesis 20). To enter a chapter and verse, add a colon after the chapter number and then enter the verse number (e.g. John 3:16 OR joh 3:16).
There are 3 cases where the first three characters of a book will not
work. While jud represents Judges, the abbreviation for Jude is jde. For Philippians use php or phil, and for Philemon use
phl or phile.
Books such as 1st & 2nd Peter or 1st, 2nd, & 3rd John are entered
using the the first 3 characters with or without the space. (e.g. 1 Peter may be
entered as 1 pe OR 1pe; 1 John may be entered as 1 jo or 1jo).
For further explanation and a reference list of abbreviations click the
blue
Question mark (?) next to the search field at the top left of the
TSM Bible form.

| Sending
email Assignments |
To
send lesson assignment answers and questions use the following
email addresses: |
|
study201@tsmacademy.org, |
study202@tsmacademy.org, |
|
|
study203@tsmacademy.org, |
or study204@tsmacademy.org |
|
Make sure that the Subject line contains at least one of the following words (minus the quotes): "ms" or "lesson" or "question" or "questions".
Due to an increase in spam email arriving at these addresses, we have implemented a filter that allows only Subject lines containing one of the above words to go through. If your lesson assignment does not contain at least one of these words in the Subject line then the email will be deleted.
Ideally, email pertaining to lesson assignments should have a Subject line that reads similar to this example: "MS-201 lesson 01". This allows our routing system to send the assignment directly to the appropriate instructor's mailbox.

| The Pace
of Sending in Lesson Assignments |
Some students work very diligently through each lesson so
that their pace of study is a new lesson each day. However, the courses
are designed with reading assignments and reflection on the presented
material in mind before answering the assignment questions. We have
therefore implemented a policy that limits the number of lesson
assignments that may be submitted in any week to three per week.

Time
Delay in Grading Lesson Assignments |
A frequently asked question from students is: Why does it
sometimes take two days to grade an assignment that is sent by email?
There are three factors that can delay email response to assignments. The
first cause is when internet traffic is exceptionally heavy, email
delivery can sometimes be delayed by 24 hours before it is received. The
second cause is when a number of students taking the same course happen to
send in assignments at the same time. This places an unusually heavy load
on the instructor assigned to that course. When this happens, the
instructor grades the individual assignments in the order that they were
sent in. A third delay is caused by weekends. TSM Academy business hours
are on a 5 day week between the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern
Standard Time (USA). When a lesson assignment arrives after 4:30 PM EST,
it will not be read and graded until the next day. If it arrives after
4:30 PM on a Friday, it will not be graded until the following Monday.

Format for Sending Email Assignments
|
|
In addition to sending assignments in plain email, TSM now accepts assignments in the form of
attachments. Formerly, the TSM system manager would automatically delete
any email with attachments, due to possible virus content. Attachments can
be in Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works.
